Emails from ExamQR don't arrive: sign-up code, password reset, candidate emails
Wait a few minutes and check spam, junk and quarantine. School mail servers often hold messages from new senders. Codes and links expire after 10 minutes.
ExamQR sends emails with the sender name ExamQR: the code to verify your email when you register, the link to reset a password, and messages to candidates (sign-in details, results, certificates, registration confirmations).
How you recognise it
- No email arrives after a few minutes.
- “Could not send the verification code. Please verify the email address.”
- “Please wait 60 seconds before requesting another code.” or “Too many code requests. Please try again in 1 hour.”
Fix it
- Wait a few minutes, then look in Spam or Junk, in tabs such as Promotions or Updates, and in your organisation's quarantine.
- Search your mailbox for the subject: ExamQR: Verify your email for account registration (sign-up code) or ExamQR: Reset password for your account (password reset).
- Check the address you typed for spelling mistakes.
- A sign-up code is valid for 10 minutes. You can ask for a new one after 60 seconds. Always use the code from the newest email.
- A password reset link is valid for 10 minutes. If it expired, use Forgot password? again.
- School or company addresses: ask your IT team to release the message from quarantine and allow mail from ExamQR. A personal address (Gmail, Outlook.com) usually works if the school one blocks it.
- Candidates without email: hand out their sign-in details on printed entry cards or a downloaded list instead. Send sign-in details only reaches candidates who have an email address.
If it still doesn't work
Report the problem with the email address and the time you asked for the email. Don't include passwords.
