Using ExamQR on a Mac

The web app works in any modern browser on a Mac. The ExamQR desktop app has no published macOS version yet, and ExamQR Exam runs on Windows and Linux.

What works on a Mac depends on the part of ExamQR you need.

  • Web app (app.examqr.com): works in a current Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. You can create tests, run online exams and see results. For sessions that share the screen or use the camera, allow the browser under System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen Recording and Camera (see Online exam: camera, screen sharing or face verification doesn't work).
  • ExamQR desktop app (question banks and test shuffling): a macOS version is not published yet. Use the web app, or ask us for a build through the report button below.
  • ExamQR Exam (offline exams on a local network): the server and the candidate app run on Windows and Linux. A Mac can still be used by a candidate if the server turns on Allow exams on phones / browsers: the candidate opens the server address in a browser. “Phone exams are OPEN exams (the device is not locked down like Kiosk mode).”

See all versions on the Downloads page.
